Why study Creative Media?
Learn how to strategically blend text, images, music, sound, film and performance to achieve your communication goals in a media-rich world.
Students enrolled in this major will develop skills in using contemporary creative arts within communication roles for the purpose of clear, engaging, persuasive and powerful storytelling.
Learn how creative expression can be used to challenge people’s assumptions, or encourage them to take civil action and prompt social change.
Graduates will be experimental thinkers who can strategically blend text, images, music, sound, film and performance to achieve their communication goals in a media-rich world.
The major includes papers focused on design thinking, intercultural communication, interactive and social media, the semiotics of sound and images to express ideas, human interest storytelling, and professional studio production (live editing, green screen, cameras and lighting).
Students will work on a variety of practical projects designed to expand their creative practice, such as audio-visual installations, gaming and VR.
