Leadership Subject regulations
As the landscapes of life and work change rapidly around us, core skills of leadership have become more important than ever. In the new world of flux and uncertainty, workplaces across the spectrum, be they small or large businesses, government, or non-government organisations, are crying out for people with leadership skills to navigate the future. By studying leadership, students can learn about different leadership styles, how to motivate and inspire others, how to communicate effectively, how to build and manage teams, and how to make ethical and strategic decisions.
Leadership is available as a first major for the Bachelor of Business (BBus). Leadership may also be included as a second major or minor in other undergraduate degrees, subject to approval of the Division in which the student is enrolled.
To complete Leadership as a single major for the BBus, students must gain 135 points from papers listed for Leadership, including 105 points above 100 level, and 60 points above 200 level. Students must complete LEADR101, STMGT101, LEADR201, LEADR202, 15 further points at 200 level or above from the papers listed for the subject, LEADR301, LEADR302, LEADR303, and one of WSAFE396 or WSAFE399.
To complete Leadership as part of a double major for the BBus or other undergraduate degree, students must gain 120 points from papers listed for Leadership, including 90 points above 100 level, and 45 points above 200 level. Students must complete LEADR101, STMGT101, LEADR201, LEADR202, 15 further points at 200 level or above from the papers listed for the subject, LEADR301, LEADR302 and LEADR303.
To complete a minor in Leadership, students must complete 60 points from the papers listed for the Leadership major, including at least 30 points above 100 level. Students must complete LEADR101.

GradCert(Leadership) and GradDip(Leadership) A Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma are available to graduates who have not included Leadership at an advanced level in their first degree. The qualification regulations define the requirements for the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma. Students must complete LEADR101 for the GradCert(Leadership) and LEADR101 and LEADR202 for the GradDip(Leadership).
