Located just a short walk from the University of Waikato campus, Waikato Badminton offers discounted social and competitive badminton opportunities for students. Two recommended Hamilton-based badminton clubs host clubs nights and regular training at this venue - the Hamilton Badminton Club and the Hillcrest Badminton Club.

Casual Court Hire: Discounted court hire is available for students between 9.00am - 4.00pm, Monday - Friday for just $10.00 per court. This cost includes the hire of racquets and shuttles.

Memberships: Student memberships are available from $20.00 per year (conditions apply), with members receiving a unique account to book courts online at their convenience.

Tertiary Events

Each year, University of Waikato students get the opportunity to join Team Waikato and represent the University of Waikato at the University and Tertiary Sport NZ (UTSNZ) National Tertiary Badminton Championships. The annual two-day tournament is held annually in September.

Inter-Hall Badminton:

This event is open for all halls of resident’s students to participate in. Badminton is a ‘Snake & Ladders’ version, and takes place at Waikato Badminton Stadium.

Drop In Table Tennis / Badminton

Every Thursday from 1.00pm – 3.00pm at UniRec in the sports hall.

Anyone of any ability can come along, coaching and support is provided most weeks.
