Nerdfest is a technology showcase event hosted by the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato.
Have fun with interactive and hands-on activities based on our research and innovative projects.
Displays will include interactions with robots, AI, cyber security, programming, gaming, lego and more.
And of course, as it’s Halloween there might be some extra surprises!
All ages welcome! Kids, families, non-tech and ‘techsperts’ alike.
What is Nerdfest all about?
The purpose of Nerdfest is to provide hands-on demonstrations for an interested audience of the range of exciting and relevant research and activities that Computer Scientists, Software Engineers, Designers and Mathematicians are involved in.... it's not just sitting at a computer.
There will be opportunities to talk to our academic staff about our on-going projects, career pathways and programmes that can help get people where they want to be.
Showcasing a mixture of demonstrations, activities, exhibits and information, there will be a variety of things to interest new and experienced ‘nerds’.
